Saturday May 08, 2021
April 29, 2021
Terry McRae is a damage insurance broker and Vice President, Senior Client Executive, Sport & Entertainment at BFL Canada. Terry’s original career choice was to be a record producer. Like most of us, our first choices are not necessarily the ones that stick. He later decided to follow his uncle and started working in the insurance business. Terry then realized that he could combine his love for music with insurance by focusing his practice on commercial insurance in the music industry. The rest is history. He would soon be writing policies for many of Canada’s major recording artists, studios, production companies, the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Juno Awards (Canada’s Grammy Awards). The firm Terry works for, BFL Canada, has a long list of clients in the live event business including the world’s biggest cirque company. Have a listen, we "insure" you this episode will be fantastic!

"I've got a few tie dyes ... ya" - With Robert Newton
Saturday Apr 24, 2021
Saturday Apr 24, 2021
April 17, 2021
Robert Newton is a globe trotter or at least he was before March 2020. Being the Global Lead Event Producer for EY still keeps him on his toes he just doesn’t see many airports these days. Over his 26 years at EY, he and the events team have produced events in over 20 countries. We talk to him about everything from the navy, The Atlanta College of Art, a Grateful Dead cover band to his current position at EY. What did he learn along the way? He learned that strong collaboration in concept, creativity and execution will lead to innovative and enduring experiences for their audiences. Outside of work, Robert’s zen is illustration and creating music. Speaking of music, we discovered that he still has some tie dye around the house and even the costume he wore as a performer at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta!
